Award winning Blues Artist Little Victor and myself have started this wonderful project. In the past I often have practiced yoga with soul or blues music in the background. The idea emerged over time since people began to use music in yoga classes and some gyms even dictate to use music. In general, I prefer to practice in silence, but certain music has the power to awake and transform you. In general, Mantras were designed to do precisely this, but I found that deep drone music does the same and I was told that the musical scale for simple blues is very similar to Tibetan music. For me the earthy sound of the blues grounds me and goes deep into my me. It relaxes and brings my brain waves into alpha state, that is, I feel the fluctuations become less (definition of yoga).
It is going to be a workshop that will relax you profoundly. Some carefully chosen songs and postures will bring you into a high state of relaxation and meditation. It is like enjoying a warm bath or float. You will experience calmness and nidra (conscious sleep – the most profound relaxation technique). It is like Mr Iyengar said ““Yoga is like music: the rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind, and the harmony of the soul create the symphony of life.”
